COOLANT HOLES
Coolant hole
Our carbide is used to make drills and milling cutters among other things. While using those tools, friction is created. This friction creates heat, which can cause the tool to break faster or affect the precision of the machining. A coolant hole is a conduit trough which coolant passes to cool the tool. A coolant hole is therefor necessary for a number of applications.
Our grinding service enables us to also offer carbide rods with chamfer and/or Weldon flat. We would like to discuss the possibilities. If you would like to know what we can mean for you, feel free reaching out.
Different types of coolant holes
We offer carbide rods with coolant holes. There are multiple possibilities in our range, such as 1 or 2 straight coolant hole(s), 2 or 3 spiralised coolant holes and 1 straight coolant hole with multiple Y-exits.
1 straight coolant hole
Of all our different rods there is a type with a straight cooling hole available. A straight cooling hole has one entrance as well as one exit. Besides that we also have carbide rods with one coolant hole and multiple Y-exits. In that case the cooling hole has one entrance and multiple exits.
2 straight coolant holes
We also offer rods with two straight coolant holes. Each coolant hole will still have one entrance as well as one exit.
Spiralised coolant holes
Besides our straight coolant holes we also have rods with multiple spiralised coolant holes. The carbide ros have either 2 or 3 spiralised coolant holes. The spiral of the coolant hole is availabel at an angle of 15°, 30° of 40°.
Multiple Y-exits
In the case of a rod with only one coolant hole, we also offer multiple exits. We offer carbide rods with one coolant hole and either 2, 3, 4, 8 or 10 Y-exits.
